AI readiness checker for web pages

Check what search engines and AI crawlers can read on a page without running JavaScript: indexing directives, canonical, title, headings, readable text, structured data and the opening answer. Paste the page source (in most browsers, right-click and choose View page source) and get observed findings kept apart from recommendations.

Up to 512 KiB.

What is checked

The checker runs the same page analysis as PromptMentions's paid site audit: HTTP status (live checks only), noindex in meta robots or the X-Robots-Tag header, the canonical link, title and meta description, the number of H1 headings and the heading order, JSON-LD blocks and whether they parse, the first paragraph after the H1, same-site links, the declared language and how much visible text the HTML contains before any JavaScript runs.

Add your robots.txt to see whether the main AI search, assistant and training crawlers may fetch this path.

Findings versus recommendations

The table lists what was found in the HTML, word for word where it matters. Recommendations come from a fixed catalogue and are ordered by likely impact on whether crawlers can read and understand the page. Length ranges for titles and descriptions and the "short opening answer" are editorial guidelines, labelled as such.

There is deliberately no score out of 100. A single number would imply a link to AI visibility that no one has measured.

Example

A page whose body is an empty <div id="root"></div> filled in by JavaScript shows a few words of text here and is flagged high: crawlers that do not run JavaScript get an empty page. The fix is server-side rendering or pre-rendering, not more meta tags.

Limitations

  • Pasted HTML shows no response headers, status code or redirects. Use the HTML your server sends, not the browser's live DOM, if you want to see what a non-JavaScript crawler sees.
  • It does not render JavaScript, test page speed, or check backlinks, rankings or index status.
  • Live checks fetch at most three pages and are switched on only for sites the secure fetch layer supports; today that is the public test site example.com. For any other site, paste the source.
  • Results describe the page, not AI answers. They cannot tell you whether ChatGPT, Perplexity, Claude or Google cite it.
  • Pasted HTML is analysed on our server and discarded straight away; it is not stored or logged.

Questions

Does structured data make a page more likely to appear in AI answers?

Google states that structured data is not required for its AI features, and no AI assistant has published that it rewards it. JSON-LD helps machines read facts such as a product's name and price unambiguously; treat it as clarity, not a ranking trick.

Why does the amount of text without JavaScript matter?

A crawler that does not run JavaScript only sees the text in the HTML. If your content is rendered in the browser, such a crawler may see almost nothing. Google renders JavaScript for Search, but many other crawlers do not.

Why is there no overall score?

Scores invite comparisons the checks cannot support. Each finding stands on its own with its evidence, so you can decide what matters for your page.

Is my HTML stored?

No. It is sent to our server for analysis, which is the only way to reuse the audit code, and discarded once the result is returned. Usage counts never include it.
