Schema markup generator and JSON-LD validator

Fill in a form to get ready-to-paste JSON-LD for Organization, WebSite, SoftwareApplication, Product, Article, BreadcrumbList or FAQPage, or paste existing markup to check it. Each type says plainly what Google does with it today. Everything runs in your browser.

Google uses this type Google uses Organization markup to understand a company's name, logo and contact details, for example in knowledge panels. It is not a visual rich result. Google documentation (opens in a new tab)

JSON-LD

<script type="application/ld+json">
{
  "@context": "https://schema.org",
  "@type": "Organization"
}
</script>
  • Missingname

    Organization needs a name.

  • Checkurl

    Add the organisation's website url.

Which types are worth adding

For a B2B SaaS site, Organization (on the home page) and WebSite describe who you are and the site name to show. SoftwareApplication or Product describe what you sell; Article and BreadcrumbList help on blogs and documentation.

Markup must describe what is visible on the page. Adding ratings, reviews or prices that the page does not show breaks Google's structured data policies and can lead to a manual action.

Structured data and AI search

Google says structured data is not required to appear in AI Overviews or AI Mode, and that no special markup is needed for its AI features. No AI assistant has published that it ranks or cites pages because of schema.org markup. What structured data does reliably is state facts (name, price, author, dates) in a form machines can read without guessing.

Rich results in Google: what changed

Google stopped showing FAQ rich results on 7 May 2026 and removed their documentation; HowTo rich results were deprecated in 2023, and the sitelinks search box is no longer shown. The generator still offers FAQPage because it is valid schema.org vocabulary other consumers can read, but labels it so you do not expect a Google rich result.

Limitations

  • It covers seven common types and their main properties, not the whole schema.org vocabulary.
  • Validation checks JSON syntax, @context, @type and the properties Google documents for these types. It is not Google's Rich Results Test and cannot say whether Google will show a rich result.
  • It cannot check that the markup matches what the page shows; that is your responsibility.
  • It never adds ratings or reviews. Software app and product rich results need genuine ones.

Questions

Where do I put the JSON-LD?

Paste the <script type="application/ld+json"> block into the page's HTML, in the head or the body. Google reads either. Make sure it is in the HTML your server sends if you want crawlers that do not run JavaScript to see it.

Should I add FAQPage markup?

Only if the page really is a list of questions and answers, and without expecting a Google rich result: Google stopped showing them in May 2026.

Will schema markup get my brand into ChatGPT or AI Overviews?

There is no evidence it does on its own. Google states it is not required for its AI features. Clear, factual content that crawlers can read matters more.

Can I combine several types on one page?

Yes. Use several script blocks or one block with an @graph array. The validator accepts either.
